Seasoned association executive, Jim McCarthy, has been named Executive Director of the Association or Regional Water Organizations (ARWO), effective June 5, 2023. McCarthy has served as President and CEO of international associations in the food processing industry for over twenty years. He previously served as a staff member of the United States Senate Subcommittee on Federal Spending Practices and Senior Vice President for Government Affairs at The Snack Food Association, before leading that association as President and CEO for over thirteen years. “Jim’s knowledge of association management, coupled with his vast experience managing public policy campaigns makes him the perfect choice to lead ARWO”, said ARWO Chairman, Hector Gonzalez. McCarthy holds both a Master’s in Business Administration from The American University and a Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University, majoring in Political Science. ARWO is the only water association that represents regional water and wastewater systems serving populations between 10,000 and 100,000 people. ARWO connects regional water and wastewater systems throughout the country by providing education, networking, and strong government affairs to its members to provide safe and abundant water to its service populations.
